eClub Charter Information & Celebration Date
We held our “Out of this World” e-Club Charter Party Aug. 9th! Monday, August 9, 2004 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm, a very unique Charter celebration of Rotary eClub NY1 of D-7150 was held at its earthly headquarters, The Children's Museum, 311 Main Street, Utica, NY. One of only 27 chosen by Rotary International to become an e-Club, we were the third to get chartered! While we meet in cyberspace, our earthly headquarters is the Children’s Museum in Utica, NY, the only children’s museum in the country and the world to be adopted by both NASA & the Dept. of Energy’s Office of Science! The luncheon event featured the 9 Charter members being presented with their Charter and Rotary pins by District 7150 Past District Governor Andrea Ives & Centennial Governor Jim Austin. Introduced by Congressman Boehlert, the keynote was delivered
by former astronaut Mike McCulley, CEO of United Space Alliance, who
will present a program on "The Vision for Space Exploration."
He also presented special exhibits and gifts to Museum Director and
Cyber Club President Marlene Brown. Attendees were able to view and
intereact with the exhibits and network with the guests. $10. per
person donation. Clubs were
asked to bring their Club banner and other resources they may
have to add to our Rotary Resource Room. They were able to view the
progress made on our Centennial Project - a Rotary Resource Reading
Room for children and adults. Download the Invitation
